Royal wedding date: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to marry on 19th May, say Kensington Palace

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding will be held on Saturday 19 May 2018, Kensington Palace has announced.

The couple confirmed their engagement last month and said the ceremony would take place at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Royal Family will pay for the wedding, including the service, music, flowers and reception.

Kensington Palace has confirmed the couple will be spending Christmas together at Sandringham with the Queen.

The wedding will be on the same day as the FA Cup final, which Prince William normally attends in his role as FA president.

The prince and Ms Markle, 36, carried out their first official engagement in Nottingham on 1 December.

Ms Markle, a Protestant, will be baptised into the Church of England and confirmed before the wedding.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF ROYAL ENGAGEMENT
His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle are engaged to be married.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.

The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents.

The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.

The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

As with her first pre...gnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.

This portrait of Her Majesty the Queen by the renowned British photographer David Bailey has been released to mark her 88th birthday on Monday.

The photograph was taken at Buckingham Palace in March and was commissioned on behalf of the Government’s GREAT Britain campaign, which aims to generate jobs and growth through highlighting Britain as a world-class destination for trade, tourism, investment and education. “I’ve always been a huge fan of the Queen,” Bailey says. “She has very kind eyes with a mischievous glint.”
