Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.

His wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, confirmed his death, saying the cause was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Mr. Nimoy announced that he had the disease last year, attributing it to years of smoking, a habit he had given up three decades earlier. He had been hospitalized earlier in the week.

THE JONATHAN ROSS SHOW : MADONNA SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HER FALL AT THE BRITS 2015

Madonna speaks about her fall at the Brits

Madonna's finale of the Brit Awards was a huge moment and the first time in 20 years that the Superstar was back to perform at Britains most anticipated Awards night.
At one point in the carefully choreographed performance, one of Madonna's dancers was supposed to slip her cape off her shoulders. He had to tug it, bringing the Superstar down with it!
...
In an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, Madonna spoke about her fall and how she coped: "I had a little bit of whiplash, I smacked the back of my head. I know how to fall, I have fallen off my horse many times."
She certainly did know how to fall and luckily managed to land on her side instead of her back. Madonna said her cape had been tied too tightly, meaning it could not be unfastened in time. "Everyone was worried my cape would slide off, so they tied it really tight around my neck," explained the singer. "I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the silky string, and it wouldn't come undone. I had two choices: I could either be strangled or fall, and I chose to fall."
The star miraculously jumped back up two seconds later to finish her matador performance and even though she was in pain, she still continued singing LIVE and smiling.
The star may have fallen down, but she has gone up in almost everyone's esteem and her single "Living For Love' has shot up the charts and is about to enter the UK top 10 after just 2 days on sale.

Hardy bowed out of the BBC One soap earlier this week after playing Peter Beale for two years

Ben Hardy has joined the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse.
The EastEnders actor - whose bowed out of the BBC One soap as Peter Beale during Tuesday night’s episode - will play a key role in the upcoming superhero movie, reports The Wrap .

It is not known which character he will play but it was previously reported that Hardy was up for the role of Cyclops in the film, before Tyler Sheridan was announced as playing the mutant.
Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner was also unveiled as playing Jean Grey in the film, a role originally played by Hemlock Grove actress Famke Janssen.
Alexandra Shipp, best known for playing Aaliyah in the Lifetime biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, will portray Orora Monroe otherwise known as weather goddess mutant Storm.
It was also recently confirmed that Sir Patrick Stewart would not reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier in this film.

He explained: “Yes, I understand that it seems to be very unlikely that I will be in the next X-Men movie, which is almost getting ready to start shooting in Montreal."
Despite the lack of Professor X in the new film, Stewart did reveal that Sir Ian McKellen will reprise his role as Magneto in the production.
Stewart told Oregon Live: "Magneto, Ian McKellen, is certainly going to be in it.
"And what I'm very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together.
"Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of X-Men from the four movies that I've already done.”
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will all return for the film, which is being directed by Bryan Singer
  • X-Men: Apocalype is released worldwide on May 27 2016

THE END OF GLEE - See Lea Michele's Touching Parting Gift From the Set of 'Glee'

Glee Final season http://youtu.be/tts8JT_dVZg

Lea Michele may have moved on since Cory Monteith's death in July 2013 — she's been dating Matthew Paetz since last summer — but the actress will always hold a special place in her heart for her longtime love and co-star

After she and the cast finished filming the series finale of Glee on Sunday, the actress tweeted a touching photo of herself leaving of the Paramount lot with a single piece of memorabilia: Finn's jersey. "One last thing," she wrote beside the touching image, just minutes after tweeting "And that's a wrap on Glee" with a broken-heart emoticon. (Yes, go ahead — feel all the feels.)

Monteith played the sugary-sweet member of both the New Directions and the McKinley High football team during his tenure on the hit Fox series. After the actor's death, Finn's photo adorned the choir room walls and his framed jersey hung in the locker room as a testament to his memory. Glee also paid tribute to Monteith with the emotional episode, "The Quarterback," where Michele sang a gut-wrenching rendition of "Make You Feel My Love," and it was heartbreakingly clear that she was still fighting to cope with the loss.
But as many singers do, Michele used her music to help her cope. She went on to co-write the song "If You Say So" about Monteith for her pop album.
Now, Michele soldiering forth in both her professional and personal life, but just as she told her fans on Instagram, Monteith "will forever be in [her] heart."

Prince Harry Secrety Dating Emma Watson

Gossip Alert: Prince Harry May Be "Secretly Dating" Emma Watson

Courtesy of: http://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/news/a13430/gossip-alert-prince-harry-may-be-secretly-dating-emma-watson/?src=spr_FBPAGE&spr_id=1449_149018381

She's smart, she's beautiful, and now, she may have found her match. Emma Watson has allegedly nabbed herself a literal prince charming in the form of Prince Harry.
According to Woman's Day Australia (who can "exclusively reveal" the news), Harry heard about Watson's split from British rugby player Matthew Janney and got some mutual friends to help him woo her. He invited her to a small party among friends, because ugh, dates are just so formal.
"Harry didn't want her to feel like she was put on the spot," explained the insider. "A party also shows he's fun and not stuffy." Now, according to the same insider, the prince is "smitten."
On the one hand, this is the best news ever. On the other hand, it's not really news 'til it's actually news, and this sounds preeeetty far-fetched to us. But PLEASE LET IT BE TRUE.

Neighbours congratulates EastEnders on 30 years in amusing sketch

As Eastenders Live continues with the ' Who Killed Lucy ' storyline Neighbours congratulates Eastenders in a hilarious spoof sketch

Courtesy of http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s14/neighbours/news/a629989/neighbours-congratulates-eastenders-on-30-years-in-amusing-sketch.html#ixzz3SCMmN6M6

Neighbours has congratulated the team at EastEnders as the BBC soap celebrates its 30th anniversary today (February 19).

The cast of the Australian series decided to mark the special occasion by filming an amusing sketch showcasing their range of cockney accents.

Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Colette Mann, Morgana O'Reilly, Stefan Dennis, Kate Kendall and Olympia Valance all played a part in the EastErinsborough sketch, which saw their characters re-enact some of the most classic EastEnders moments.

After Ramsay Street's Susan Kennedy slips on some milk once again, she wakes up in the middle of an episode of the London soap and encounters a rather different looking Paul Robinson, who claims to be Phil Mitchell.

Later, she witnesses a row between Paige Smith and Naomi Canning, in which Naomi shouts that she is Paige's mother - a nod to the famous scene between Kat and Zoe Slater.

Sheila Canning pays homage to Peggy Mitchell by using her memorable line "get out of my pub", and Karl Kennedy acts out a famous scene involving Den and Angie Watts when he delivers Susan divorce papers.

Neighbours series producer Jason Herbison said: "Thirty years is a long time in television and we know how much blood, sweat and tears, as well as a lot of love and laughs, goes into producing serial drama, so well done EastEnders.

"Our cast had a fantastic time paying homage to some memorable Walford moments in the sketch. And I couldn't miss the opportunity to have Colette scream, 'Get out of me pub'."

This is not the first time that soap rivalry has taken a backseat in recent weeks as Coronation Street and Hollyoaks also sent good luck messages to the EastEnders team as they prepared to go live.

Adam Woodyatt also won strong praise last month when he paid a moving tribute to late Coronation Street actress Anne Kirkbride at the National Television Awards.

Neighbours is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, with several past characters returning for the milestone.

Digital Spy Soap Scoop video - hit play below for gossip on Charity's reappearance in Emmerdale, an emotional time for Sharon in EastEnders, a shock discovery for Liz in Coronation Street and temptation for Jason in Hollyoaks.

40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live

Music played a big part of SNL's 40th anniversary festivities Sunday night, starting with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake opening song-and-dance number, which channeled years of famous catchphrases and characters. Kanye West also performed a medley of tunes — "Jesus Walks," "Only One" and "Wolves," — while Martin Short and Maya Rudolph (as Beyoncé) helmed a tribute to SNL's best musical-comedy moments, including Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer as Marty and Bobby Culp, and Bill Murray as lounge singer, Nick Ocean.
Paul McCartney followed-up his impromptu duet with Paul Simon of the Beatles' "I've Just Seen a Face" with a bombastic, bleeding-heart rendition of "Maybe I'm Amazed" during Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special. While the performance itself was appropriately celebratory and thunderous, a hat must be tipped to Keith Richards' sly introduction: "In the early Sixties a band came out of England and it changed the world But enough about the Rolling Stones: Ladies and gentlemen, Paul McCartney."
Miley Cyrus continued the festivities by paying tribute to Simon with an impressive rendition of "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." Slinking through the verses, Cyrus took the chance to break out her booming, diva vocals during the song's soulful and stomping chorus — all of which was anchored by Fred Armisen's indispensable auxiliary percussion.
Simon returned to to the Studio 8H stage to close out SNL's 40th Anniversary special, though first he made sure the musicians of the Saturday Night Live band got the standing ovation they deserved. Backed by Lenny Pickett and Co., Simon fittingly performed a dulcet rendition of "Still Crazy After All These Years," accentuated by a blazing saxophone solo from Pickett.

Louis Jourdan, French actor and star of Gigi, dies aged 93

Louis Jourdan, French actor and star of Gigi, dies aged 93

The French actor Louis Jourdan, best known for his role in the multi-Oscar winning 1958 musical Gigi, has died in California aged 93.

Born in Marseilles, he began his career acting in French films before being lured to the US.

Often seen in roles that capitalised on his Gallic charm, he described himself as Hollywood's "French cliche".

His later years saw him play evil villains, including in the 1983 Bond film Octopussy.

Jourdan died at his home in Los Angeles, his official biographer Olivier Minne said.

"He embodied French elegance and Hollywood offered him the parts to go with that," he told the AFP news agency.

Among those paying tribute on Twitter was Indian film star Kabir Bedi, who played Jourdan's bodyguard Gobinda in Octopussy.

Deeply saddened to hear, from @twitter friends, of the passing of Louis Jordan," he wrote.
Cassian Elwes, producer of films including Monster's Ball and Dallas Buyers Club, wrote: "Louis Jourdan was an absolutely charming man who was always elegant in everything he did it was no wonder he was friends w [sic] everyone he met."

American actress Rose McGowan, whose films include The Black Dahlia, wrote: "Louis Jourdan, thank you for the entertainment. Your elegant beauty and wit were a joy to behold."
French resistance
Born Louis Gendre in 1921, he changed his name to Pierre Jourdan, then Louis Jourdan when he became an actor.

According to a biography by the late Hollywood correspondent Bob Thomas, Jourdan's father owned a seaside hotel in Cannes, where he met artists, actors and directors who encouraged him to study drama in Paris.

His early career in France was interrupted by World War Two. He refused to star in Nazi propaganda films and escaped to join the French resistance.

After the war, he resumed his film career, eventually becoming one of Hollywood's favourite French actors.

Jourdan played opposite leading ladies Joan Fontaine, Jennifer Jones, Grace Kelly and Shirley MacLaine in films during the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s.

Gigi, a musical romantic comedy in which he played the suave Gaston Lachaille, was one of the most successful films of the 1950s. It won nine Oscars, including best picture.

Despite this, Jourdan did not consider Gigi his best achievement, reportedly saying: "It was a wonderful story for Leslie and Maurice Chevalier, but I played a colourless leading man.

"You'll note that none of the actors was nominated for Academy Awards."
'Perpetually cooing'
Other key roles included a part in Alfred Hitchcock's 1947 film The Paradine Case, and with Grace Kelly in The Swan.

He played concert pianist Stefan Brand opposite actress Joan Fontaine in the 1948 film Letter from an Unknown Woman.

He also showed that he could play a villain in the 1956 film Julie, in which he played Doris Day's husband, a psychopathic killer.

But despite his 15 years as a leading man, Jourdan felt he was often subject to Hollywood typecasting.

"Any actor who comes here with an accent is automatically put in roles as a lover," the Associated Press news agency reported him as once saying. "I didn't want to be perpetually cooing in a lady's ear."

Jourdan has two stars on Hollywood's Walk of Fame and in 2010 he was given France's highest honour, Legion D'Honneur.

His wife of more than 60 years, Berthe Frederique Jourdan, died last year.

Steve Strange, lead singer of 1980s pop band Visage, has died aged 55 following a heart attack, his record label says.

Strange, whose real name was Steven Harrington, died in hospital in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The Welsh pop singer - whose best known hit with Visage was Fade To Grey - died in his sleep of heart failure.
