Kim Kardashian rose from 9th most googled celebrity in June this year to number 1, due to her headline grabbing wedding and quick divorce to a basketball star, Kris Humphries. The marriage sadly lasted only 70 days after was possibly after the British royal wedding the second biggest wedding of the year. Media speculation has been rife that Kim got married to hike the ratings of her reality show “The Kardashians” but she vehemently stands her ground and says she married for love. I have never watched the show but I strongly believe that everyone is entitled to live their lives how they wish. What happened is between her and her ex husband Kris Humphries. I only wish the best for Kim Kardashian in 2012.

It was also a turbulent year for Hollywood blonde bombshell, Scarlett Johansson who divorced husband Ryan Reynolds (also a Hollywood actor). Then just when she thought it was safe, she was hacked and her nude images were made public.

Emma Watson got emotional at the Deathly Hallows premier as the first part of the final Harry Potter movie graced our movie theatres. She was quoted saying that she felt like a large part of her life was over as she had grown up in the Harry Potter movies.

Britney Spears had no major dramas this year and was in the media for the right reasons performing and fronting her products. Britney was back doing what she loved best touring, performing live and giving her fans and show to remember. Just from my facebook page I could see her true fans were oozing with joy from the 02 arena performance in London.

Just when I was wondering what could have put Megan Fox on the top ten Google list for 2011, this week she manages to hit the headlines the same day Google releases the list. Megan sleeps with a dictator in the movie with the same name The Dictator starring Sacha Baron Cohen. The promo clip of the movie is hilarious but the line that kills me is when Megan (as herself) after bedding the dictator rebuffs his gift of jewels by saying in her superior “spoilt brat” voice “Rubies, are you kidding me, do I look like one of the Kardashians?”. I like when celebrities can laugh at themselves.

Victoria Beckham had a beautiful baby girl, Harper Seven and doting dad David Beckham tweeted photos of her and the babies looking immaculate as ever. Victoria had some documented back problems following her pregnancy and had to go without her fashionable 6 inch heels. However in a New York minute, Victoria Beckham was back in form ready to show her DVB collections and sitting front row at the “must see” fashion shows of 2011. The fashion pack finally gave Victoria the accolade she so desired for so many years by winning the coveted designer brand of the year at the British Fashion Awards 2011.

TOP TEN LIST OF RISING CELEBRITIES
Fastest rising personalities on Google searches of 2011
Google also compiled a list of rising celebrity searches. It’s sad as well that in this category we had to say goodbye and “rest in peace” to big stars in the world of entertainment. Britain’s own Amy Winehouse sadly passed away and over in the States, Jackass star Ryan Dunn. I have no doubt fans of both flocked to youtube to remember Amy and Ryan when they were at their best, songbird Amy performing in those dulcet soulful tones and Ryan’s memorable Jackass clips.
RIP Steve Jobs. This year the world also united in grief and sadness at the news of the death of Steve Jobs the founder of Apple. Whether you admired him or not, there was barely a bad word said about Steve Jobs who has lost his battle with cancer.
Adele became again a record breaking chart topper in the UK and America having 2 singles in the top ten in America for several weeks. She wowed audiences all over with her live performance of “Someone Like You” at the Brit Awards. However Adele’s year ended on a low with throat problems which saw her cancel several shows and travel to America for surgery. We wish Adele the best for 2012.
Charlie Sheen had the mother of all melt downs in 2011 from what was alleged to be a mental breakdown fuelled by drugs and alcohol. He was engaged in rants and exchanges with Two and a Half Men creator and producer Chuck Lorre. He was subsequently fired from the show and replaced with Ashton Kutcher. He made a surprising appearance at the 2011 Emmys to present an award and wished the best to all those involved in Two and a Half Men. In 2011, Sheen set a new Guinness World Record for Twitter as the "Fastest Time to Reach 1 Million Followers" (adding an average of 129,000 new followers per day) as well as the Guinness record for "Highest Paid TV Actor Per Episode – Current" at $1.25 million while he was a part of the cast of Two and a Half Men sitcom. On March 3, 2011, Charlie Sheen signed with Ad.ly marketing agency specializing in Twitter and Facebook promotions. On September 19, 2011, Sheen was roasted on Comedy Central. It was watched by 6.4 million people, making it the highest rated roast on Comedy Central to date.
Who can forget Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge? Kate became a princess when she married the most eligible bachelor in the world Prince William at Westminster Abbey in London. The wedding was attended by royalty from around the world, high society, diplomats, representatives from charities favoured by Prince William and of course celebrities like the Beckhams and Elton John. The world released a join gasp as she emerged in the Sarah Burton dress (Alexander McQueen). The surprising star other than the annoyed bridesmaid on the balcony, was her sister and the maid of honour Pippa Middleton whose luscious derriere got her world admiration to almost equal her sisters’.
