Following
what was one of the most exciting talent show launches last week, to celebrate
the 2nd week we are promoting young talented singers right here in
the UK!
WE
SUPPORT KATHERINE JENKINS...ON DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 14, 2012 ON ABC copyright ABC
We
support Katherine Jenkins on Dancing with the Stars. Flying the British flag
high, Katherine’s incredible first dance earned her 2 nines and 1 eight.
In
case you were wondering who the world's most prolific classical crossover
artist is, look no further than Katherine Jenkins!
The
Welsh Mezzo Soprano has sold in excess of seven million albums since launching
her career in 2004. An internationally recognized figure, Katherine, at the age
of only 31, has become an ambassador and inspiration for millions of people
around the world.
When
she was 23, Katherine signed what was said to be the biggest ever UK classical
recording deal; she has broken records becoming the fastest selling mezzo soprano
ever, has released eight studio albums, has won two Classical BRIT awards and
broken countless records with her albums going platinum around the world. She
has performed with Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli, had lunch with and
performed for the Queen and other members of The Royal Family as well as Prime
Ministers and dignitaries around the world.
Having
recently worked with internationally renowned producers including David Foster
and John Shanks, Katherine's unique and timeless vocals have defined the genre.
Known for her interpretations of popular songs, operatic arias and hymns,
Katherine is also known for her long-standing work with the British Forces
Foundation for which she is a trustee and has consequently made various trips
to Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the troops. This support for the troops
has led her to being referred to as the Forces Sweetheart.
Cherished
as one of Britain's favorite singers, Katherine has become one of our greatest
musical exports. Now she's adding Dancing with the Stars to her already
impressive list of accomplishments.

(2) CHALLENGE: Do you have a memorable audition that is more DANGEROUS than the knife stunt by Mike Henderson?
We love Mike's stunt just for the reaction of the judges when he lunges to catch the knife when Piers buzzes him. We also love the fact that Simon buzzed him after he thought Mike had stabbed himself and killed himself!

I first met the incredible band Miss Terry Blue
when they performed at the Talent of London in August 2010 when they peformed
to an incredible reception at legendry rock venue, Proud Camden in North
London. I have since followed their career and my colleague Ereomala covered
their EP release in August 2011. Click on link below
Recently described as some of
the “hottest talent in the country” and one of the most “promising up and
coming acts in the capital”, ‘Miss Terry Blue’ are musicians from Germany,
France, Italy, Russia and the UK who met in London – the capital of music in Europe.
The lead singer and songwriter Isabella from Germany was trained classically as
an Opera singer before finding her way to contemporary music. She brought ‘Miss
Terry Blue’ together in February 2010. Since then it has seen them to do many
high profile gigs across the UK and some top London venues such as headlining
their own shows at 02 Islington Academy through to London’s china whites night
club. Miss Terry Blue are exciting and really special live.

SAVING
FACE DOCUMENTARY
From Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia (All rights reserved and copyright to owners)
The film follows London-based Pakistani plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohammad Jawad, as he
journeys to Pakistan to perform reconstructive
surgery on survivors of acid violence.[6]
Saving Face also broaches the subject of the under-reporting of acid violence
due to cultural and structural
inequalities towards women. The film also features two women
attacked by acid and their struggle for justice and healing. The Acid Survivors
Foundation of Pakistan, which is featured in the film, had documented over 100
acid attacks a year in Pakistan but estimates far more due to lack of
reporting.
Obaid-Chinoy has also stated that the film is "a
positive story about Pakistan on two accounts: firstly, it portrays how a Pakistani-British doctor comes to treat
them and it also discusses, in great depth, the parliament’s
decision to pass a bill on acid violence". Obaid-Chinoy has also said that
the film assisted in the trial and conviction of one of the perpretrators of acid
violence on a female victim.
PRODUCTION
Obaid-Chinoy chose the subject of acid violence after
being contacted by Junge, who had already filmed portions of the documentary
prior to their discussion. Obaid-Chinoy commented to the Wall Street
Journal that "The subject matter immediately appealed to me:
Acid violence impacts women in southern Punjab and changes the lives of
hundreds of women each year." The documenters initially had some
difficulty contacting and gaining the trust of the survivors in the film as
well as connecting with the local community, but stated that "once we had
spent a considerable amount of time on the ground and had established
relationships, we did not experience any further obstacles.
