Fast & Furious 7 will be the next installment in the Fast and the Furious series following up from Fast & Furious 6 and Tokyo Drift. Justin Lin has announced he will not be directing. James Wan is signed on as director for the next film. Jason Statham will play the villain, Ian Shaw, brother of Owen Shaw (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6). Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster are all signed on for the film as their characters from previous films. Fast & Furious 7 rolls into theaters in 2014, next summer. Filming will start in September, 2013 only three months after the release of Fast 6.

In a post-credits scene, while Han is being chased in Tokyo (realigning the events from Tokyo Drift to the present time), he is hit by an oncoming car, resulting in Han's car exploding, killing him and revealing that the crash was an orchestrated attack. The other car's driver is revealed to be, Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), Owen Shaw's older brother, walks away from the scene and calls Dominic, leaving him a threatening message saying "Dominic Toretto, you don't know me, you're about to".

Paul Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker have signed up to complete filming of Fast & Furious 7.

Paul walker died in a tragic car crash in November last year, while on a break from filming the blockbuster franchise.

Last night a post was made on the film’s official Facebook page, which said:
"The Fast & Furious saga is about family. Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.

"We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for 'Fast & Furious 7,' and it's among the strongest work of his career.
"We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our Fast family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too."

Cody Walker shared the announcement on his own Facebook page and added: “I can now officially confirm what so many have already assumed. FF7- let's make it great and make my bro proud.”
Paul’s brother, Cody Walker is almost identical and has previously worked as a stuntman. A source in December said:

"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on. If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honour his brother's memory."
Paul Walker received a special tribute during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards and was commemorated with the Best On-Screen Duo award, along with Vin Diesel for their turn in Fast & Furious 6.

Fast & Furious 7 is scheduled to be released on April 10, 2015.
