FACE OF 2012 GALA AWARDS ON WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY 19 August 2011, London

On the 19th August The Chelsea Old Town Hall played host to the Face of 2012 Gala Awards on World Humanitarian Day. The evening was a chance for guests to commemorate the UN recognised day and to network with celebrities, high society, diplomats, the sporting & fashion elite and the United Nations.
The evening started with a VIP reception to mark World Humanitarian Day with drinks and canapés. The opening speaker was Phil Mulligan, CEO of the United Nations Association UK, one of the oldest UN related organizations in the UK with a special theme on World Humanitarian Day from the United Nations secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. http://www.un.org/sg/ . The guests also raised a lot of money for the Katie Piper Foundation through an auction sponsored by the Xfactor, Arsenal Football Club, Nooshooz (Designer Shoes), Henna Elegance, Boudoir Chique, Celebritize You (USA) and Annie Ashdown (Celebrity life coach).






The red carpet black tie awards night recognised community organizations in city of London that have been organizing excellent projects on sport’s, culture, education & youths. 4 awards were presented on the night for Culture, Arts and Entertainment, Charitable activity, education and youth work. Three special  recognition awards were also presented for inspirational organisation of the year, inspirational person of the year and inspirational media personality of the year.
Kathryn Hindley (Deputy Director) received the inspirational organisation award on behalf of the Disaster Emergency Committee.

Debs Little (Founder of Passionate Pink) received the inspirational person of the year award from Chico Slimani, star of Xfactor 2006.
Sporah Njau (Chat show host on SKY channel 184) received the inspirational media personality award from Angelica Fenney CEO of Boudoir Chique and one of the sponsors of the evening.
The other high profile awards presenters were Richard Austin Rees (PR specialist, PR Director of Amika), Stuart Phillips (A-List Celebrity hair stylist), Colin Campbell Austin (Learning & Talent Specialist, Channel 4), and Ereomala Atigolo (CEO of Video Model Pics).








The Gala award ceremony also included 3 fashion shows from Flylander Couture, Adopoted Culture couture and Anna Luks. See the links for more details on the fashion designers.














There was a live gala opening performance from opera singer Pippa Langhorne who comes straight from recent success of one of ITV’s high rating TV Series Britain's Got Talent, performing Nella Fantasia and O Mio Babbino Caro.  Jason Patrick Pritchard, a soulful rock performer debuted three songs with a more upbeat rock tempo from his first album to be available on I-tunes end of 2011. Graciela Rodriguez an international Spanish singer ended the night with the operatic theme.

The Gala evening finished with a selection of 2 spokesmodel for the Universal Elite brand in 2012 during the Cultural Olympiad for the Olympiad inspired events. The 2 winners of the spokesmodel competition were Hassan Reece and Trisha Viranna. Universal Elite will be running Olympiad inspired events during the Cultural Olympiad which have been added to the mayor’s culture diary for networking purposes. Hassan and Trisha will represent Universal Elite at these events and also attend various events on behalf of the brand in 2012.

The Gala night finished with a party atmosphere as guests & VIP’s headed to High Street Kensington for the official after-party at prestige Kensington night club AMIKA London who gave their full support to the awards and this red carpet event.
