Louis Walsh QUITS X Factor? After 11 years the judge reveals he's 'done with the show'

Louis Walsh QUITS X Factor? After 11 years the judge reveals he's 'done with the show'
http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/louis-walsh-quits-x-factor-5496757

Speaking candidly on Irish television, the pop mogul says: "I want to get back to being a manager"

Pop mogul Louis Walsh has revealed he is “done with X Factor” after 11 years on the hit show.
The 62-year-old said he wants to go back to managing acts and expects TV bosses will want to bring in new faces to freshen up the panel.
The X Factor judge also said that Simon Cowell claims all the credit for the former five-piece boyband One Direction.
Speaking on TV3, he said: “I think I’m done with X Factor honestly. My day job is as a manager, I’ve kind of neglected that. I want to get back to being a manager.

“I’m working with Shane Filan, he’s got a new record coming out, and I’m working with Hometown. I’d like to get back to where I started off… I never wanted to be on TV, it just happened.”

He also said that his reason for leaving was due to the X Factor producers, adding that they reportedly think the show needs a shake-up.
He said: “I’ve done 11 seasons. That’s a long time on television. I think they’re going to change it, go for a few new faces.

But while Louis is ready to leave behind his X Factor days, he claims he will never be able to put his music business behind him.
He said: “If you don’t like this business you shouldn’t be in it. You have to be full time, you have to love it.
“I still love it. I still look at the charts, I still buy music, I still go to gigs. It keeps you young.”

The music manager, who was speaking on The Seven O’Clock Show with boyband Hometown, also had a jibe at fellow X Factor judge Cowell.
He said: “Simon takes most of the credit, but Nicole Scherzinger and I were very much involved as well.
“If it hadn’t of worked Simon would have said that it was our idea.
“But [Simon] did press all the buttons. He made it work.”

Interview with Jeffrey Patterson from 7th Heaven, 80s chart topping British band

Interview with Jeffrey Patterson from 7th Heaven, 80s chart topping British band

7th Heaven was a eighties British band (not to be confused with the modern Euro group) that released joyous and happy singles. Their first HIT single Hot Fun was a classic summer song with a nice horns arrangements and vocals to match.

DISCOGS 7th Heaven

Jeffrey Featuring on the Xfactor 2008 Website

London Guru: It’s been over 20 years since you released your first hit song Hot Fun. In what ways has your music grown or changed in that time?

After 20yrs.... I have learnt to focus on what is current and try to fit in, somehow with my own flavor added... doing something that doesn't sell is all well and good, but you still have to pay the rent so it is a balance and a hard one too!

7th Heaven - Hot Fun (1985)

London Guru: When Hot Fun became a hit, what was that feeling like? How did you celebrate?

That was the best day of my life, hearing my song on radio and through neighbor’s windows was so special! I think I had a few beers that night with the band  to celebrate...

7th Heaven on Soul Train

London Guru: What was it like performing on the legendary Soul Train and Top of the Pops?

Soul Train was great show was presented by Jeffrey Daniels from the band Shalamar a band I liked, Soul Train gave us great exposure and connected us with the soul scene. When I did top of the pops with THE 3 JAYS, that was another great moment in my life, a show I have always wanted to be on and finally got there...

The 3 Jays Feeling it Too

London Guru: When did you start your music career

I started off my music career,in a band called monkey business, which was a reggae band in a similar vain to UB40 early 80's.

London Guru: When did you get your first big break

It was when I formed the band 7th heaven releasing our first hit single HOT FUN around 1985 which charted and set us up to tour with bands such as SOS band and Kool and The Gang, Womack And Womack and got on to all major music TV shows.

London Guru: What side of the music industry don’t you like and why?

The politics behind the scenes. Due to music business politics the band 7th Heaven folded, so I took time out and became a session singer for the likes of Barry Manilow And Boy George,George Michael And Amos.

London Guru: Bands like Duran Duran have stood the test of time and Spandau Ballet reformed in the noughties. Is there any way to put into words the mystique of '80s music? Other than nostalgia, what factors drive its continuing popularity?

The 80's were great, because the synthesizer was introduced to music which made it more experimental, the mix of rock, soul, electro together with men dressing a little bit more feminine, and more fashion conscious.

London Guru: What did you expect to happen when MTV launched, and how did it differ from what actually happened?

I felt that MTV did not cater for the talent on the street, it only pushed songs that they were paid to play at the time, controlled by the man in the suit...It was only good in terms of showing the bands visual presentation, which in turn helped them reach a bigger audience...

London Guru: What look, image or artwork do you think defined the decade?

For some reason all I can see is an image of George Clinton dressed in his funky outfits and all those bright colors...

London Guru: Who is your favorite 80s musician?

hard one! I have always loved stevie wonder thru all the decades, and prince both are seriously talented, but there were loads more...

London Guru: What is your favorite memory of 80s music?

It has to be releasing my first record hot fun...

London Guru: Tell us about working with Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey?

After working as a session singer, I joined a band called “Ice” which included Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey and Cas from Skunk Anansie.

London Guru: You also toured in Japan which was quite lucrative at the time?  I am sure our readers would be fascinated to know more...

I sang for Japanese artiste called Hotei and toured japan for few years, and worked with many others along the way.  www.japan-zone.com/modern/hotei_tomoyasu.shtml

London Guru: Did you manage to successfully transcend into the 90s as the style of music evolved?

In the 90's I hooked up with Ben Langmaid now with La Roux and we started a dance act called HUFFf and HERB and we had a hit with NINA SIMONE'S track FEELING GOOD which got in the top 40 charts. Other tracks included UP ON THE BLUE with me singing the vocals.

Towards the end of the 90's I got together with JAMIE WHITE and JIM LEE and created another dance act called THE 3JAYS we got to number 17 in the charts with a song called FEELING IT TOO and did my first TOP OF THE POPS performance.

London Guru: Are you a songwriter as well?

After all the politics getting in the way I decided to write for other artistes and started writing with HARRY COLLIER and BEN LANGMAID for a couple of years and formed a band called KUBB which was in a rock indie style. The band went on to have chart success with tracks, GROW, REMAIN AND WICKED SOUL and we managed gold sale's status the band ended up folding after first album and you can guess why,

During this time I also wrote and sang an album with JAMIE WHITE from THE 3JAYS I used the name JAH WAGGIE which was in a reggae pop ragga style which did well in Europe. The track was a QUEEN cover called ANOTHER GAL BITES THE DUST (another one bites the dust). Due to politics again it could not break it in the UK, so again I went back to doing sessions for other acts and some lead vocals for MIKE COGLIN DJ/producer on some dance tracks.

London Guru: Tell us about when you first met La Roux?
After the session singing,  I got back to writing with Ben Langmaid from LA ROUX, we auditioned a young 17 year old called ELLE JACKSON now KNOWN AS LA ROUX and I co-wrote a song called GROWING PAINS but due to ending up in hospital could not continue with project at the time, which was such a shame as she has done so well.

London Guru: What have you been up to more recently?
having a good writing and producing partnership with BEN LANGMAID we started writing an album for a girl duo called WAR OF WORDS and hopefully they will be releasing new single in 2012 also we have written a song with KELIS for them too..

London Guru: What’s your final word on your journey in the music industry?
as you can see its been a long and winding road, but the story is not other yet...I hope that helps and inspires others in terms of my journey......... thanks...

Also join the group, UK FUTURE MUSIC AND HISTORY lets hear your story!...... www.facebook.com/yilesanmi#!/groups/269387313105329/

London Guru: When did you get your first break as a model and what was it like modelling professionally for the first time?
My first break was just over a year ago, I became friends on twitter with a celebrity photographer named Denise Collins - I was tweeting from Peterborough and she was tweeting in East London - She asked me if I would like to meet her for a photo shoot in London's Brick Lane - I drove to London and met her and it was at that photo shoot I met Hanna Marie Hutchison (HMH COUTURE) celebrity designer to Cheryl Cole Elle Mcpherson and many more ... and she asked me to be her Model. My first fashion show was on the runway for HMHCouture at the Berkeley Dress Show Knightsbridge in the presence of Royalty - I was so honoured to be asked to work for such a high stage prestigious event.

London Guru: You are the Face of 2 haute couture brands HMH Couture and Pia Michi 2011. How did you secure such lucrative contracts so early in your career?
My Mum is my Manager and I also have a Managing/Agent (7prmamangement) but it was in fact my mother who secured the Pia Michi title for me, I was chosen to be 'FACE' of their brand from 300 other applicants. However I worked with HMH Couture for almost eight months before I was appointed as the'FACE' to her fabulous designs.

London Guru: Did you ever have any doubts about the modelling industry? Did anyone ever discourage you from modelling and why?
No I have never had any doubt at all, my parents were happy with my decision soon after I completed a two year collage course and achieved a double distinction, I was on the books of Sylvia Young's 'Youngens' agency until I was 11 year of age and at that time I had become too tall for their work, so they suggested I try modelling

London Guru: You are also the face of Sugar Hut a famous nightclub in Essex featured on the BAFTA award winning “The Only Way is Essex” reality show. That must be fun how did that come about?
I really don't know - The Sugar Hut were looking for a 'FACE' for their Club for several weeks and were interviewing girls every Friday - unbeknown to me my name was put forward to them by email with some pictures - It was the last week of interviews and the Sugar Hut representative phoned me at my home and asked me to go to the last week of interviews and finals - So I went along and was interviewed by Club Owner and The only Way is Essex Star - Micky Norcross and I was appointed the 'FACE'.

London Guru: Do you believe it is important for someone in the public eye to be a role model? How would you ensure that you continue to be a good role model on the road to success?
Yes I believe it is very important to be a good role model and I try my best at all times - I'm not really too partial to alcohol and I dont smoke - bad language is something that I really dislike so I don't use it, I don't really let my hair down in clubs or parties because there seems to be always someone around with a camera .

London Guru: What would you say is the highlight of your career so far and how does it compare to your overall career goals?
I have recently been featured in OK Extra Magazine and featured in the National Press but I think I must again say it was my Runway appearance at the Berkley Dress show this year - It was just so awesome!

London Guru: Who is the most intriguing or inspiring person in the modelling industry today besides yourself?
I can think of several Supermodels that I am inspired by but I think that I must say Victoria Beckham she really is so charismatic.

London Guru: What 3 top tips would you give to aspiring models emerging in the industry?
1. Never ever pay an agent to get you work
2. Stay strong to your own belief - and don't be persuaded to do anything that you are not comfortable with
3. keep in mind that you are a clothes horse - the designer or the product is the STAR!

London Guru: You have a background in the performance arts as you were signed to the Sylvia Young School and judging from your youtube clips you have a beautiful voice. Do you plan to pursue a career in the music industry or the stage as well?
I have been singing since I was a child - I have a very strong deep voice that is mostly suited to ballads - I would like to try the music industry but so far I have not met the right record producer.

To hear Harriadnie sing go to her youtube channel

London Guru: I have read that Brian McFadden got in touch via twitter and said something very positive about your singing. Is that true?
Yes it is true, Brian did contact me - again unbeknown to me the Record Producer  did a feature on his blog about my voice and and from that I was contacted by a Music Producer by the name of Paul Stanborough - who works with Brian Mcfadden - so it was due to that contact that Brian very kindly wrote to me.

London Guru: What do you do for fun and relaxation. Do you have any favourite hobbies or routine to ensure you de-stress.

I am quite a stressful person I think it must be all the travelling around the Country - The Trains - Tubes - and living out of suit cases - when I am home I do sing a lot and I also like running - but my life is just so hectic

London Guru: Have you go anything significant coming up in your modelling career (campaign, shoot, cover etc) that you would like our readers to know about and where can they find more information about it?

I have some very very exciting work coming up in the new year - my Manger has been working on a TV program for me and I am on the Catwalk in February at Chinawhite's for Fashion designers Rock and Needle and I am to be launched as the 'FACE' of a top UK Beauty Salon but I can’t say to much more at the moment but I will post out as soon as I can.

Harriadnie has a CALENDAR coming out. Check her website to see how you can get a copy website www.harriadniebeau.com
