Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home Saturday, according to police. Brown's husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend found her in the tub in the morning and started CPR, the Roswell Police Department said in a statement. Police and rescue personnel arrived at the home at 10:25 a.m. and performed "life-saving measures" before Brown, 21, was brought to the nearby North Fulton Hospital.
The incident remains under investigation, police said. It comes less than two weeks before the third anniversary of Houston's death. The Grammy-winning singer was found submerged in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills, California, hotel on Feb. 11, 2012. She was later pronounced dead. Brown is also the daughter of R&B singer Bobby Brown.
Houston, 48, had struggled for years with cocaine, marijuana and pills, and her behavior had become erratic. Authorities examining Houston's death found a dozen prescription drug bottles in the hotel suite. They concluded that she accidentally drowned. Heart disease and cocaine use were also listed as contributing factors in her death.

“Watch These Guys Unknowingly Catcall Their Own Moms And Get An Embarrassing Lesson On Harassment”

Watch These Guys Unknowingly Catcall Their Own Moms And Get An Embarrassing Lesson On Harassment

Video http://youtu.be/7FI2LY4dk-s

Street harassment is a major issue in cities across the globe. The problem is a lot of men *don't* see it as a real problem, viewing catcalling as a minor or harmless offense — even if they themselves don't participate in it.

But imagine for a second what a street harasser's mom would say if she saw him in action. Would she agree that it's "harmless"?

A camera-equipped team in Lima, Peru, decided to find out for themselves.

Introducing "Sibale a tu Madre" ("Harassing Your Mom").

The team identified two repeat offenders then tracked down their mothers to help address their sons' disgusting behavior.

The women agreed to be made up so that they weren't immediately recognizable and headed out on the streets in search of their sons. The results? Anything but pretty.
Mom #1:

Son: "It's just a game."
Mom: "Do you realize what you just said to me?"
S: "I thought you were Karina."
M: "Oh, so you talk to her like that?"
S: "No, I'm not being dirty."
M: "What do you mean you aren't? Did you just listen to yourself?"
**Pro-tip: He should probably stop making up stuff and start apologizing.**
Mom #2:

Mom: "How can you be harassing them? Aren't you ashamed?"Son: "My boss is coming out now and will see us. He'll fire me!"M: "I don't care about your boss."S: "It wasn't me, mom! It was the guy in the car ... my boss is coming out now and will see us.
He'll fire me."
M: "I don't care about your boss."

**Another pro-tip: Moms always know when you're full of shit.**

In both cases, the sons receive a very public (and embarrassing) lesson on sexual harassment: If you wouldn't say it to your mother (or even in her presence), is it *really* that harmless or inoffensive?

As hilarious as this video is to watch, what these (likely staged) scenes reveal is definitely not a laughing matter.

Academic studies show that 65% of women have experienced street harassment in their lifetimes. That number gets even higher when you isolate the big pedestrian cities. So, is it really that surprising that these dressed-up mamas could so easily fall prey to their sons' gross verbal harassment? Not really.
If a guy needs to be related to a woman in order to care about respecting her, or at the very least about not sexually harassing her, then he's the real "piggy." And I'm guessing he probably doesn't like being called that either.

Let's also be clear: We don't fix street harassment by replicating any "tactics" used in this video.

While this video does a good job at pointing out the fact that sexual harassment is not, in fact, silly or harmless, it does not do a great job at clarifying how we actually should tackle this issue. Just to say it, encouraging mothers to go catch their sons red-handed (then publicly humiliate or even physically assault) is 100% absolutely NOT the correct approach to fixing this behavior. Making sure that we as a society put pressure on men to make the idea of catcalling or sexually harassing women on the street an unthinkable act, now that's not a bad idea.

Here's what we can do.

1. Keep the conversation going. Discuss it amongst your friends. And when possible, share your personal stories.
2. Also, know when and how to report street harassment. While not every situation might warrant police involvement, some certainly do. Reporting serious offenses can often help prevent future crimes — and potentially more severe ones. And remember that bystanders can report offenses, too!
3. Become a mentor for young girls and boys but especially for boys. We know it doesn't matter how girls are acting or how they're dressed — they'll get catcalled and harassed regardless. But we CAN teach boys not to catcall and harass and to respect women.
4. Become a male ally. There are all sorts of books that talk about what it means to be a male ally, and why it's so critically important. If you're a book person, check out "The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help" by Jackson Katz.

MIAMI — Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday night, while Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, came in second. The other finalists, chosen from among 88 contestants, were Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell; Miss Ukraine, Diana Harkusha; and Miss Netherlands, Yasmin Verheijen.
Vega, of Barranquilla, Colombia, granddaughter of the legendary tenor Gastón Vega, said the contests leading to MIss Universe were the first she'd participated in and would be her last as she's eager to return to her studies in business administration.
Sanchez, 24, of Las Vegas, has a fourth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has traveled the country teaching others. She spoke in the competition about equipping women to defend themselves against crime. "It's just something that's so prevalent in our society and why not empower women to take control of a dangerous situation into their own hand," she said.

OSCAR NOMINATIONS 2015

Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel lead 2015 Oscar nominations with nine nods each... while The Imitation Game gets eight

Courtesy of http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2910567/Birdman-Grand-Budapest-Hotel-lead-2015-Oscar-nominations-nine-nods-Imitation-Game-gets-eight.html

  • Clint Eastwood's American Sniper lands six nods including best actor for Bradley Cooper
  • There was not a single person of colour nominated in the acting or directing categories
  • Cake's Jennifer Aniston and Big Eyes star Amy Adams both snubbed
  • Angelina Jolie's WWII epic Unbroken also overlooked

Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel tied for the most Oscar nominations Thursday morning with nine nods each, including best picture.
They were joined in best-picture nominations by Boyhood, Whiplash, The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, American Sniper and Selma.
Nominations for the 87th annual Academy Awards were announced from Beverly Hills, where they were broadcast and streamed live.

The Imitation Game trailed close behind with eight nominations.

Clint Eastwood's Navy SEAL drama American Sniper did especially well, landing six nods including best actor for Bradley Cooper.
Angelina Jolie's WWII epic Unbroken was not recognized, and other snubs included Jennifer Aniston for Cake and Amy Adams for Big Eyes.

Also with six nominations was Richard Linklater's coming-of-age epic 'Boyhood,' which remains the best-picture favorite. On Sunday, it won best drama at the Golden Globes.
But Wes Anderson's old Europe caper 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' which also won best comedy or musical at the Globes, has emerged as the most unexpected awards heavyweight.

With $59.1 million at the North American box office (opening all the way back in March), it's also the most money-making best-picture entry.
That, however, is likely to change soon after 'American Sniper' expands nationwide this weekend.
The eight best-picture nominees left out two wild cards that might have added a dose of darkness to the category: the creepy Jake Gyllenhaal thriller Nightcrawler and the tragic wrestling drama Foxcatcher.

In the three previous years since the category was expanded (anywhere between five and 10 film may be nominated), there were nine movies contending for best picture.
The nominees for best actor are: Cooper, Steve Carell (Foxcatcher), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Michael Keaton (Birdman) and Eddie Redmayne.
David Oweloyo, who stars as Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma, was left out.

There was not a single person of colour nominated in the acting or directing categories.
Marion Cotillard for the French-language Two Days, One Night was the surprise nominee for best actress. She was joined by Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Julianne Moore (Still Alice), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Reese Witherspoon (Wild).

The nominees for best supporting actor are: Robert Duvall, The Judge; Edward Norton, Birdman; Mark Ruffalo, Foxcatcher; Ethan Hawke, Boyhood; and J.K. Simmons, Whiplash.
The nominees announced Thursday morning are: Patricia Arquette, Boyhood; Laura Dern, Wild; Keira Knightley, The Imitation Game; Emma Stone, Birdman; and Meryl Streep, Into the Woods.

This year's modestly sized but much-beloved favorites - Boyhood, Birdman - have been largely locked in place throughout much of the ever-expanding industrial complex of Hollywood's lengthy awards season, where statuette-hunting campaigns span months and are feverishly chewed over by Oscar prognosticators.
As studios have focused more and more on easily marketed blockbusters, Oscar season increasingly exists apart from the regular business of the movies, in its own highfalutin, red-carpeted realm.
Ratings are on the rise. Last year's Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, drew 43 million viewers, making it the most-watched entertainment telecast in a decade. 12 Years a Slave took best picture.
This year's ceremony on Feb. 22 will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

LA DOLCE VITA ACTRESS ANITA EKBERG DIES

La Dolce Vita actress Anita Ekberg dead at 83 following 'a series of illnesses'

  • Swedish born actress died in Rome on Sunday
  • First found fame in Fellini's La Dolce Vita
  • Became a sex symbol thanks to iconic scene showing her wading through Rome's Trevi Fountain in strapless black dress
  • Married twice and has said her greatest regret is not having any children

  • Anita Ekberg, the Swedish-born actress who is best known for her role in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, has died at the age of 83.
La Dolce Vita actress Anita Ekberg has died at the age of 83
The moment where her character Sylvia, wades through Rome's Trevi Fountain in nothing but a strapless black dress is remembered as one the most iconic scenes ever in a movie and one which turned her into a fully-fledged sex-symbol.
Ekberg's lawyer Patrizia Ubaldi confirmed she died in Rome on Sunday morning following a series of illnesses. She had been hospitalised most recently after Christmas.
Ubaldi said that in her last days Ekberg was saddened by the illness and her advancing age.
'She had hoped to get better, something that didn't happen,' she said.
Ubaldi added that a ceremony would be held in the coming days at a Lutheran church in Rome, and that Ekberg had specified that her remains be cremated.

Born on Sept. 29, 1931, in the southern city of Malmo, Ekberg grew up with seven siblings.
In 1951 she won the Miss Sweden competition, after being recommended to enter by organisers who saw her on the street, and went to the United States to compete for the Miss Universe title.
She didn't win but became a model in Hollywood and later started taking on small acting roles.
Her role in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita - where she played a movie star - shot her to stardom. The movie was a colossal success and came to define the wild and carefree days of the early 1960s.

Hosting a Swedish radio program in 2005, Ekberg recalled shooting the scene in the Trevi Fountain in Rome. She said it was shot in February, the water in the fountain was cold and co-star Marcello Mastroianni was falling over in the fountain drunk on vodka.
'And there I was. I was freezing,' she said. 'They had to lift me out of the water because I couldn't feel my legs anymore.'
'I have seen that scene a few times. Maybe too many times. I can't stand watching it anymore, but it was beautiful at the time,' she said.
Ekberg had long lived in Italy, the country that gave her worldwide fame thanks to the iconic dip opposite Mastroianni.

Ekberg married Briton Anthony Steel in 1956, but divorced him four years later. In 1963 she married again to actor Rik van Nutter, but that marriage also failed.
In an interview with Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet in 2006, Ekberg said her only regret in life was never having children.
'I would have liked to have a child, preferably a son,' she was quoted as saying. 'It didn't turn out that way. That's life, you just have to accept it.'

In the interview, published in connection with Ekberg's 75th birthday, she also said she wasn't afraid of death.
'I'm just angry because I won't get the chance to tell others about death, where the soul goes and if there is a life afterward,' she was quoted as saying.
'I don't know if paradise or hell exist, but I'm sure hell is more groovy.'
